Subject: Looking for Blueprints for Redwood Valley Railway #4
Does anyone know of or have copies of blueprints for the 15" gauge Redwood Valley Railway engines? I am looking for prints of the 2-4-2 and maybe the 2-6-0. I would like to see if it is possible to scale these down to 2 1/2 scale for 7 1/2 gauge track. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill,
I work there, and have seen only a portion of the drawings.
There is a filling cabinet full of individual drawings for each component. There is a index system that shows which drawings were used for each piece of equipment. Most items are interchangeable, like air pumps, firing vavles etc. Then there are specific items like #4's diamond stack and it stevenson valve gear vs. #7 straight stack and its walsharts valve gear.
My point is there isn't a set of grouped plans for any equipment. You have to pick thur all of the drawings to make a set.
If there is something more in general you need, contact me off list.
Thanks

If you Google "railroad roman font" a bunch of sources come up. I just downloaded from a shareware site http://www.winsite.com/win3/fonts/truetype/page3.html and got a nice looking font. Using MS Word it printed type about 1" tall. I don't know how large type you want for your equipment but this may do it for you.

Subject: Taiwan Mill Lube System Parts
List members,
Does anyone know of a supplier of one-shot lubricator line parts for the common Taiwan milling machines. This is a knee mill about the size of a Bridgeport. The one-shot lubrication line, a flexible metal one, that runs to the table has developed leaks. I have not been able to find a supplier of repair parts so far. Any leads would be appreciated.

Subject: New Pictures
I have just uploaded 4 new pictures to a new folder called Squirrel Valley Railway on the 7+ site. These are showing progress of the new loco currently under construction for our line.
New Loco - Here's a shot of the new loco in the workshop. Still under construction at this stage.
Another pic from a different angle.
Smoking box - And a closeup of the smoke box door. Even the number is hand crafted with a file and linishing tool.
Boiler - An earlier shot taken when the cladding was just complete on the boiler. Sorry about the dark.
Goose - Out visiting with the battery electric, at a friends place.
Golden spike ceremony at Squirrel Valley. Two of my loco's turned up for the event. November 2004.
New Line - Photo taken on the recently completed mainline in 2004
Another shot of diesel in 2004.
And a look at freshly mowed grass?
Also, we are hosting an open weekend on the 27th-29th January, all welcome. Please contact if you intend coming. Oh, it's summer here!!

Subject: OT: Germany Country Band "Southern Railway"
Hello all,
if you are interested in Country-music and would like to see something different, check out
the following website:
http://www.southern-railway.de/index.html
Southern Railway is a amateur-countryband in Germany. I found them on our railway-tv-
station Bahn.tv via satellite and really liked the video, they produced with support from the
southern area of the german railroad.
At this time, they are producing their first CD, and they also have a DVD available.
You can download/view the video, I saw at Bahn.tv, when you click on "INFO" and than on
the picture on the left or on the text "Black Forest Train"-DVD.
Enjoy.
I wish you all a Happy New Year.
Hubert from Germany
